Castle of Blue

Gloomy skies cover the Castle of Blue,
Its Knights are laying in a moodless mood;
It’s been a long time they have seen no moon;
No day, no night for the Knights of the Castle of Blue.

The stones hold an insentient blue hue,
Their sentinels are guarding no more good;
It’s been a long time they have become loon;
No meaning, no sense of life their lays construe.

Castle if castle, it was, blue if blue,
None of its living dead might be understood;
It’s been a long time declared the end comes soon;
No Devil, no God has control what it has been through.

Fate avoids the castle, avoids the crew,
Its dark blue prisoners are for ever ensued;
It’s been a long time they bear no hope for fortune;
No chance, no move might lead out from the Castle of Blue.

Unfriendly place is the Castle of Blue,
Its hostile creatures are by no living viewed;
It’s been a long time to be timelessly immune;
No living visitors, no inquisitors just Knights like me and you.

    1. Thank you for your thoughtful reading and comment.

      I’m glad you liked my poem, and I wish you happier year, too. 🌹

      You’re right that we should let only trustful people close; however, it is wise to stay a hermit if you can give and get only pain, too.

      1. I find that as I grow older, my cats and husband are the company I prefer most. Other people; even family, can be cruel and concerned mostly for themselves. I’m happy to work and come home to those who love me. No need for anything more.

        Hermits still need love, too. 💋
